Teaches at MY Durham

“The best things to do with the best things in life is to give them away."

—Dorothy Day

Originally from Palm Springs, California, Amanda moved to Durham in the summer of 2020 to pursue theological studies at Duke Divinity School. In her search for peace and routine in the midst of pandemic anxiety, she fell in love with yoga, encountering healing and exploration through her practice - a practice that has allowed her to find a sustainable relationship with her body and the people around her. Yoga has helped her to fall out of love with how her body looks, and rather in love with how her body moves and feels. She completed her 200 RYT in the spring of 2023 through Midtown Yoga. As a doctoral student in theological ethics, Amanda is deeply interested in accountable liberative practices that lead to wholeness and peace. After taking a class with Amanda, she hopes to help you find agency, and thus liberation, to affirm gratitude and recognition of your own sense wholeness.
